On Saturday, the cold weather didn't stop some people from throwing on their bathing suits and hitting the pool at Appalachian Power Park.

One man’s attire may not say winter time, but the snow sure does. Yet he still thinks it's a good time to dive right in.

He wasn't the only thrill seeker at the first-ever Charleston Polar Plunge. Dozens of others in their bathing suits followed suit, taking the plunge into some very cold water!

Taking a dip in the pool wasn't just for fun. It was also for a special cause, to raise money for the Special Olympics Annual Summer Games in Charleston.

For those of you who would rather watch than try it, the plungers say you're missing out!

They’re showing that swimming is not just for the summer.

The event was so successful this year, organizers say they plan to do it again!
