You think your children are safe in your home, especially when you're there with them, but in Ashland, Kentucky, a 15 year old boy is accused of molesting five children, including a 4 year old girl.
The girl’s mother wants her family’s privacy protected, but she is speaking out on this very personal issue because she says her daughter’s case was mishandled by the Ashland Police Department, and Officer Charles Thompson, the investigating officer.
She says Thompson tried to convince her daughter that her statements were not as bad as she made it seem and initially convinced her not to press charges.
In the end, they did press charges, and a suspect was arrested. And now, more children are coming forward with similar accusations.
So the mother asked the Ashland Police Department to investigate Thompson’s actions. And his superiors agree…even writing in reports that his conduct was "inadequate and unacceptable."
In the end, Officer Thompson received 10 days unpaid suspension, and lost 20 vacation days.
We tried to reach Officer Thompson and the Ashland police chief, but could not get in touch with them.
