An investigation is underway in Mason County.
The sheriff's department and school district are vague, but say they're looking into something that happened on Hannan Junior-Senior High School property last Friday.
School Superintendent Larry Parsons says the probe involves a possible violation of what should or should not be on school property.
Sources tells NewsChannel 3 that a weapon was found on school property.
Parsons says there may be student expulsions and a possible violation of the Federal Safe Schools Act.
Parsons also says the school is now secure and student safety is his top priority.
The sheriff says his criminal investigation involves at least one juvenile.
