RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Actress Daryl Hannah could go to trial as early as November for her role in an environmental protest at a Raleigh County coal mine earlier this summer.
The county's assistant prosecutor said most of the people arrested that day have already pleaded guilty to the charges against them, but not Hannah, who reportedly wants a fight.
State troopers arrested Hannah and several other protesters at a demonstration in front of a Massey mine last June. They said the silo at the mine poses a health risk to students at Marsh Fork Elementary School.
The protesters were charged with obstruction and impeding traffic that day. NASA scientist James Hansen was also one of the protesters charged alongside Hannah, whose film credits include "Steel Magnolias." Hansen's trial also is expected to start in November.
Charges against former West Virginia Secretary of State Ken Hechler recently were dropped. Hechler said he gave the prosecutor a tape that proved he had not broken either law during the mine protest.

Hey, "Toye"... What is a "HYPOCRIT"? lol If you are going to point out spelling errors in order to feel some what better about yourself, at least do it correctly. You look like an idiot! By the way (BTW), until all the anti-coal haters are off the grid, they are nothing more than fakes, frauds, liars, and HYPOCRITES! Google that and shove it!
