The Kentucky State Police received a federal grant ti find out how many cars at certain times of the day speed through school zones. It's an effort to bring more awareness to the school zone speeding problem.

Sgt. James Stevens is using special radar equipment which stores the information on how many drivers break the law in a school zone. We spoke to several parents who praised the efforts and hope the message will hit home.

The study isn't over yet. State Police will continue to gather data with radar until March 13Th. After that, they'll begin issuing citations for drivers who go over the speed limit in school zones....
