Buffalo Creek Anniversary Brings Painful Memories

Thirty-five years ago, a dam broke in Logan County, killing 125 people and forever changing lives.

The Pittston Coal Company called it an act of God, but the people who lived through this tragedy say it was an act of man.

Life has moved on along Buffalo Creek, but the horror of that Saturday morning stands still. People have honored their friends and family with a memorial, some passing by it several times a day.

Monday on the 5:30 edition of NewsChannel 3, you’ll hear from a woman whose four children, grandchild and husband were all killed in the disaster.
