A young man is dead after an early morning murder in Barboursville. Now, police say they need your help to arrest at least one, if not two suspects who are on the run.
The murder happened in a mobile home off East Pea Ridge Road in Barboursville. Investigators have released the name of the murder victim: 26-year-old Travis Huff of Glenwood.
Police say he was shot and killed around 1 a.m. Monday at his cousin's trailer. Witnesses reported hearing gun shots shortly before police were called to the scene.
When State Police arrived on the scene at Broadmoor Drive, they found Huff dead with two shots to the torso. They say two of Huff's relatives were with the victim.
Police say Huff was with two people at the nearby Stats Sports Bar playing pool before the shooting -- these men are now being called "persons of interest" in the case. The bar has a surveillance tape system, and police have isolated these pictures (shown below) of the men. Police say these men drove the victim from the bar to the trailer in a dark colored Dodge Neon with Kentucky plates. NOTE: these men have not been charged with anything and are not suspects in the case.
State Police say if you recognize these men, or if you were at Stat's sports bar around midnight last night and heard or saw anything, no matter how trival it might seem, you can help solve a murder. Call the West Virginia State Police with your information at (304) 528-5555.
