Law enforcement officers across the West Virginia are saying the war on drugs, just got a lot harder. Because the state supreme court is putting new restrictions on a key tool used in many drug investigations.
The ruling states informants can no longer go into someone's home to make a drug buy wearing a wire, unless they have a court order.
Some say that court ordered approval takes too long to get.
A drug task force representative for Boone, Logan and Mingo counties says this ruling adversely affects about 250 of their latest drug investigations.
