LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Fayette County police arrested a Lexington man last night and charged him with killing his wife, ending a bizarre day that included the man allegedly pointing a gun at his brother - the editor of a local newspaper.
John Todd turned himself in to authorities Wednesday night after police found the body of his wife Lynn Todd in their Lexington home. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Todd apparently killed his wife Lynn then traveled to Richmond, where he entered the office of his brother, Jim Todd, the editor of the Richmond Register.
Richmond Register assistant editor Lorie Love says the two brothers stayed in the editor's office for about 90 minutes behind closed doors before they walked to John Todd's van parked behind the newspaper building. Afterward, the editor told colleagues his brother had held him at gunpoint.
Richmond police say John Todd never threatened his brother, and that his family was simply worried about his well-being.
John Todd and his brother Jim are both from Ashland.
