CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A federal judge in West Virginia has allowed the release of the president of the Pagans Motorcycle Club two days after he was charged in a sweeping racketeering indictment that accused the outlaw biker gang of plotting to kill and extort rivals.
Officials say David Barbeito was released on bond Thursday.
Separately, prosecutors are admitting that authorities mistakenly arrested an Ohio man who merely shared the same name as a defendant in the case. A document filed Thursday asks that Dale Wright’s bond be eliminated.
Federal prosecutors had sought to hold Barbeito, of Myersville, Md., without bond and are appealing his release.
The indictment names him as a leader of an organization engaged in kidnapping, robbery, extortion, conspiracy to commit murder and other crimes.

it is a shame they are going ater the pagans they are not bad people.they do lot of good self for a lot of people.the grov of wv is more bad for us then the pagans .they said we dont have moeny for a lot of things for the people but the gov. sure go and give them self a huge raise.now that is the big crime. i know a lot of pagans and they are very good people.and if you really would look in to it. i ask it to be posted but i guess you alldont want the truth or are too scared to post it . go to the high raise charleston arbors there is more crime there then any crime in wv ask the cops they are there evry day and the manager is behind a lot of itand nothing being done. a big croved up.but they want to go after the pagans when they are doing nothing wrong but alot of good things for people and kids.that is wrong.and as for the ones who is turning on they pagans brothers wasnt true pagans in the first place.and if you dont post this i know there is a cover up in wsaz.
I guess, our slogan " If you can't hear, you can feel" sum's it up. If you don't think that is not inforced by the club membership then simply wear a t-shirt supporting another MC or don't get oput of the way when a Pagan is coming your way. Hope you have good health insurance.
It just kills me to see people on here trashing these bikers and they not have a clue what they are talking about. These bikers have done nothing but been good to the community and now that re-election is coming up the government wants to make the community think that they are doin their job by arresting bikers. The community needs to open their eyes and see that they are letting all the drug dealers stay on the street, and be able to do drive by shootings and get by with it. Look at the kids that got killed headed to prom, all the law can say is "they were at the wrong place at the wrong time" but do you think they are still looking for the killer, hell no. That case is closed. My heart goes out for their families, look at the girls from Marshall that has been murdered, but they aren't doin anymore about that, and that is right here in our community. So, they need to let the bikers out, and I gurantee they can do a cops job better than they can..
