Interstate 64 east bound is back open in Charleston after a motorcycle rider went over the side of a bridge on to the interstate.

It happened just after 2pm on the 36th Street bridge in Kanawha City. Police tell us 23 year old Daniel Tyler of Charleston lost control of his bike while riding across the bridge, hit the retaining wall, and then flew off the bike on to the interstate below the bridge. He died in the crash.

Police say Tyler was wearing a helmet and traveling with at least 3 to 4 other motorcycles at the time of the accident. Investigators are still looking into what caused him to lose control.

Both I-64 and the 36th Street bridge have re-opened.
