At the Hillview Retirement Community in Portsmouth, there's a tall tale coming from a second floor apartment. It's a true story of an animal attack! But a few bruises aren't keeping the 93-year-old victim from sharing her story.
It was something so crazy, Esta Regner can barely believe it herself.
“You'll never hear it again,” said Regner.
What happened inside her Hillview Retirement Community bedroom makes her friends stop and say…
“Well, it's a wonder you didn't have a heart attack,” said Regner. “That's the first thing they said."
Now Esta's the talk of the town.
“Yea, this is two dollars,” said Regner.
Even pretending to charge her friends for a glimpse of the impossible!
It all started at 6:30 on Thursday morning.
“I was just lying there, and all of a sudden, something hit me on the head, and I thought we were being attacked,” said Regner. “I thought it was a terrorist attack, really I did."
But terrorists weren't to blame. Instead, deer did the damage. It wasn’t as bad as a scene from the silver screen. But Esta's room was ransacked…
“I can just feel it, and it is so sore,” said Regner.
And her face trampled!
Esta wonders if reindeer roughed her up, and insists on keeping a smile on her face!
“No, I'm not going to let it get me down,” said Regner.
Esta's theory is that after turning 93 last weekend, the two deer were just late to the birthday party!
“I don't know why that deer had to come in,” said Regner. “I guess he was trying to celebrate some more."
They were two unwelcome guests that were creating quite a tall tale!
Everyone agrees it was simply a freak accident. Still, Hillview says it's putting down deer repellant and taking extra precautions to make sure this doesn't happen again.
