MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Dozens of new jobs could be on the way to Mingo County.

The West Virginia Economic Development Authority approved a tax free funding option for a new electric plant.

American Clean Energy hopes to open the plant in 2011 at the Harless Wood Products Industrial Park.

According to a news release, the plant will use 400-thousand tons of wood waste per year to produce energy.

American Clean Energy still has to finalize an agreement with American Electric Power before the project can move forward, but the company hopes to start construction next summer.

The project is expected to cost nearly $150 million dollars. If the plant is built, it could create 40 permanent jobs for the region.

Sue honey, before you get on here downing everyone, at least learn to spell. It is cousin, not cozen, but maybe you had to drop out in 6th grade to marry yours.

The Gilbert area is a good example of what WV could be. The Schools, roads, jobs or anything you look at are leaps and bounds above the rest of the county or Southern WV in general. You can see it for yourself, just drive over Horsepen Mtn., if you can get up US 52 without being killed before you get there. I don't know if there will ever be any hope for the rest of the county. Porkers and pillheads running the show here, some don't have an IQ bigger than their shoe sizes and it shows. Just come and look for yourself. The average ambitions here is to get a job at a strip mine, buy a house trailer and marry their first cozen..
