CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A lot of people were dodging the rain drops in Charleston Thursday. But over at the capitol- folks were on the lookout for smashing pumpkins.

Thursday marked the annual Pumpkin Drop at the West Virginia State Capitol.

Students from dozens of schools competed to see whose pumpkin could survive the drop off the roof of the building.
