Three People Killed, One Under Arrest

By: D'Arcy Robb Email

West Virginia State Police say three people are dead following an overnight incident in southern Wayne County. Troopers say 2 of the people were shot to death and the third stabbed.

Roy Keith Copley is under arrest and charged with the stabbing death of Larry Mollett. Troopers say Copley stabbed Mollett in retaliation, after Mollett shot Rosella Copley and her son Tyson Jude to death. Troopers say Copley was in her 40's, Jude in his 20's. Rosella was Roy Copley's ex-wife and Tyson was his ex-stepson.

It happened around eleven o'clock Monday night in the town of Stonecoal, just off Route 52. That's south of Crum, just a few miles north of the Mingo County line.

The nephew of one victim tells us that he believes a romantic dispute was behind the killings.
