911 tapes are revealing more about a deadly car crash Tuesday night on Route 60 in Jefferson.

The vehicle that caused the crash that killed two people, was reported stolen earlier that day. Police say Jerry Ellis was driving the stolen Jeep Cherokee when it crossed the center line and hit Melissa McClaughlin's vehicle head-on. Both drivers died at the scene.

We've obtained the 911 tapes that show several people called to report someone in a Jeep Cherokee driving recklessly just minutes before the crash.

"He's right here on Route 60 in St. Albans just passing the old Parkway foods," said a caller to 9-1-1. "Man, he's done run like five people off the road. This other guy behind me has been chasing him."

Police say speed played a factor in the crash and neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
