I am so sad that very little apparently has been done to solve this cowardly murder, and my heart aches for Tonya Slaughter’s family and friends. I read the story yesterday, Dec 16, 2009, about the “Mason County Pair Arrested on Drug Charges” which said that “The Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people at house on 18 Mile Creek Road in Ashton.” This appears to be located very near the area where Tonya’s body was found, and it makes me wonder if there could possibly be any connection between the two cases. BTW, I am not implying that Katrina Cooper and Tony Sturgeon are in any way responsible for or connected to Tonya’s murder, but I can’t help wondering if maybe these two know something about that night, and maybe they can help police bring some closure to Tonya's family. Maybe a comment like this might just jog someone’s memory about that event... May she rest in peace!
