Guilty Verdict in Charleston Murder Trial

A jury returned a guilty verdict Wednesday for the man accused of using a hammer to kill a man inside his west side apartment. It took jurors only 3 hours to convict Jonathan Lind on second degree murder charges.

Police say Lind killed Edward Ayers last year after the two got into an argument. Lind initially said the argument was over politics, but on the stand this week he said it was over sex.

Lind was also found guilty Wednesday on several other charges including robbery and credit card forgery. He will be sentenced next month.

Ayers was a well-known church organist.
