HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Cabell County Board of Education agreed Tuesday night to sell the Old West Junior High School property to the Cabell County Community Services Organization (CCCSO) for a senior citizen center.

The Board agreed to sell the property for a little more than $9,000. Meanwhile, the Cabell County Commission has contributed about $3,000 toward the project.

CCCSO officials said the project, which is expected to be complete sometime in 2012, will mean a huge difference for senior citizens in West Huntington.

Among services that will be available to seniors age 62 and over will be Meals on Wheels. Seniors can live in the center by contributing roughly one-third of their monthly income.

The new facility will be the second such senior center in Huntington. The current is located next to CCCSO headquarters along 10th Avenue.
