PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Virginia Supreme Court has upheld permits for construction of their portion of a multistate power line.

This comes after lawyers for the Public Service Commissions in Virginia and West Virginia say the applications for the PATH transmission line should be dismissed.

The lawyers argued since Maryland has already dismissed the application there, the PATH line would have a starting point in West Virginia, but no ending point.

Power line developers say they are willing to extend the decision date on the project until January 2011 so they can re-file their application papers in Maryland.
