ELEANOR, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Everybody likes to get a discount and Saturday and Sunday the West Virginia National Guard will help military families save money on groceries.
In March, several families took advantage of the 30-percent discount. Saturday, a store will be set up again at the National Guard base in Eleanor.
To get the discount all families need to do is show military I-D. The event is scheduled to go from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and then again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hey, I know that any subject concerning war and politics can get heated, but this is an article about a commissary sale...come on! Just a big shout out to all those who worked so hard to make the sale possible...THANK YOU! I miss that about active duty and appreciate the time and effort to try and help us out here in the Guard. Thanks again to all who made it possible.

They may receive a paycheck but it's not nearly enough. I've had generations of family in the military and they certainly deserve a great deal more than they receive. No ones asking for welfare, but those families with children should receive their groceries and utilities paid while their spouse is engaged in a war. I'm not saying everyone enlisted, just those on active duty and deployed to a war zone, with a family who depends on them. Mel doesn't sound unhappy...you on the other hand seem awfully defensive. If you're on welfare and it's legitimate, then I'm glad we have the system...I was there myself for a very short period of time (6 months or so, I chose to take myself off and go to college though I know not everyone can do that.) THANK YOU WV NATIONAL GUARD FOR HELPING THE FAMILIES OF YOUR FELLOW SOLDIERS!!
