It's free, it’s fun and it’s healthy!

That’s the pitch for the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day. And the number one goal is to make obesity an afterthought.

What may look like child’s play to some, is a healthy start to others.

The kids took part in running, roping and relaxing. At this Kids Day, making exercise fun is the first priority.

Trends show West Virginia number two in the country when it comes to obesity, and Kentucky isn’t far behind. That’s why the Y is holding the events.

The American Heart Association’s “Healthy Life Challenge” is also taking place, designed to get people healthy…and health-conscious.

Their annual “Heart Walk” is scheduled next week at Huntington’s Ritter Park.
