WILLIAMSON, W.Va. (AP) -- A Logan County teenager faces charges in connection with the vandalism of a transformer that left nearly 5,000 customers without electricity for almost 24 hours.
West Virginia State Police charged 18-year-old Steven Spry of Verdunville on Monday with giving false information to an officer during the investigation.
American Electric Power has said someone shot a transformer in Dingess. Replacing the equipment cost about $1 million.
The shooting was among 20 acts of vandalism since Oct. 6 that targeted AEP equipment.
AEP is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction.

Teen??? I think this is a man according to his biological age. This is the problem- they do not make the transition. This vandalism is a criminal act and his age takes it to another criminal level.
This young man needs some help... but at a $1 Million the only thing he's going to see is jail. It's sad. Another lost kid. But I guess at 18 he should have known better...
SHOCKING STORY!!!To bad he didn't use that big a$# head of his before he pulled that trigger.I wonder what movies are playing tonight on that forehead?
