CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of having sex with an underage girl admitted to the crime on Wednesday.
During a hearing, Farris Mallo pleaded guilty to several charges, including 3rd degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by parent or guardian.
Investigators say Mallo admitted that he was having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Mallo's parents and sister are charged with child neglect after police found the family living in horrific conditions on Charleston's west side.
Mallo's younger brother, Alexandrio, was also in court Wednesday.
Alexandrio Mallo pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of third degree sexual abuse in a separate case. Prosecutors say he fondled a young boy under the age of seven.
During Wednesday's hearing, Alexandrio Mallo also told the judge his 14-year-old brother is charged in the death of an elderly woman. He also told the judge he believes he was in court because of his 14-year-old brother's alleged crimes.
Prior to pleading guilty, Alexandrio requested a mental evaluation rather than accepting his plea.
As a part of his plea deal, Alexandrio would serve 6 months in jail, and would receive credit for time served. If he accepted the plea, he would only have about a month left in jail.
After the prosecutor told the judge that the plea-agreement would expire Wednesday and Alexandrio's case would be sent to the grand jury, he had a change of heart because he didn't want to face more jail time.
Alexandrio will now be out in time for Christmas, though he told the judge his entire family was in jail and he didn't know where he would spend the holidays.
He also told the judge the food at South Central Regional Jail tasted like dog food and that he'd lost a lot of weight during his time in jail.
Mallo's parents and sister are also facing charges of child neglect. The charges were filed after the murder of an elderly woman happened at the home across the street from the Mallo's earlier this summer.

Mandy - yes - my taxpayer dollars paying for CRIMINALS who intentionally with malice or financial gain - or sociopaths who will never change - is wasted. But for children raised in filth and with scum, taught to steal, hustle, commit incest and not to respect anybody - perhaps there can be help for them by putting them out of society in a setting where they get intensive psychiatric counseling - they are probably have other mental illnesses that can be cured/or controlled. If they are young and it's not their fault and they are not mean spirited, some way should be made to give them a second chance. (not the elder ones, it's too late for them)In WV there is a special court now for helping folks who committed crimes to get drugs they are addicated to - so what about the people addicted to NO ACCEPTBLE WAYS OF LIVING?? by ms Dlaton)
Who are you to complain about the kind of food you are getting?!?! If it were my choice; the only thing I would serve you is an IV full of the lethal injection drug. And MsDalton I dont know about you, but I am sick and tired of my tax dollars going to care for these sick-o's. If only WV had the death penalty! Another thing that sickens me is plea bargaining! The victim's plea obviously was NOT heard; why should the criminal's be? This is a sick sick world! I hope Karma catches up with this nasty family and disposes of them all together.
Well actually being insane or brainwashed into thinking living like animals is RIGHT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE DUMB - it can actually make you more cunning in order to survive. I do agree ALL THE FOLKS EXCEPT THE BABIES SHOULD be kept out of society for many many years - either in jail or a hospital - or even a GROUP HOME of sorts with strict supervision.
