WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) A truck driver accused of driving drunk and crashing into a car full of teenagers was back in court Thursday.

Police say Breazeale Norris hit a car along Interstate-64 in Teays Valley in December 2009. One person died in the accident, three were hurt.

Thursday, the trial was moved from June to August so attorneys could hire someone to reconstruct the accident.

Also Thursday, the defense asked if the jury could go out to the scene during the trial.

Norris was charged with DUI causing death and leaving the scene of an accident.

Breazeale Norris waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Police say Norris was driving drunk when his tractor trailer hit the car along Interstate 64 near the Teays Valley exit ramp. The accident happened back in November.

James Roberts, 18, of Putnam County, died in the accident. Three others were injured.

Norris' case is now headed to the Grand Jury.

Breazeale Norris appeared in court Tuesday only to have the magistrate tell him his attorney didn't appear for the hearing and a new one would be appointed.

Attorney Joe Reeder is expected to appear in court with Norris Friday at noon.

Police say Norris was driving drunk two weeks ago in the eastbound lanes of I-64 near the Teays Valley exit ramp.

Norris has been arraigned on several charges, including DUI causing death.

James Roberts died in the accident. He was 18 years old. Another teen injured in the crash appeared in court Tuesday, along with several family members of those involved in the accident.

Norris is a tractor trailer driver from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com Breazeale W. Norris, 57, of Indianapolis, has been arraigned on several charges, including DUI causing death.

Norris has also been charged with three counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, one count of DUI in a commercial vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Norris was driving the tractor trailer that collided with a car Saturday night along Interstate 64 in Putnam County.

James Roberts, 18, of Eleanor died at a local hospital early Tuesday morning. Three others were injured, including two juveniles.

The accident happened just after 10:00 p.m. Saturday in the east bound lanes of Interstate 64 near the Teays Valley exit ramp.

Deputies say the driver of the tractor trailer was charged Monday in the case. Breazeale W. Norris, 57, of Indianapolis, was charged with DUI causing injury and DUI with a commercial driver's license.

More charges are expected to be filed in the case.

The accident happened just after 10:00 p.m. Saturday in the east bound lanes of Interstate 64 near the Teays Valley exit ramp.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com James Roberts, 18, of Eleanor, Brian Bess, 18, of Red House, and two juveniles were all in the car.

All four were taken to the hospital. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.

As of Monday morning, Roberts was still listed in critical condition at CAMC. According to a hospital spokesperson, Bess was treated and released.

Deputies are not releasing the names of the two juveniles or their conditions.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department is trying to reconstruct the accident to find out exactly what caused the accident.

Dispatchers say a tractor trailer collided with a car and there are some serious injuries.

Emergency crews on the scene say four people were in the car, and all four were taken to the hospital.

Their names and conditions have not been released yet.
