A year of being "locked out" can take it's toll. Peggy Dixon worked at Meridian for 34 years. She says she still can't believe it's been one year since Meridian locked out its 360 employees, and seeing others pass the picket line doesn't help the situation.
"It's very frustrating when someone comes out waving a pay check at us. Makes you want to smack somebody."
John and Pam Grosjean lean on their faith to get through the lockout. John has been at the plant 41 years. The Grosjeans are lucky. They can still put food on the table. For other workers, it's not as easy.
Workers have a strike defense fund that helps keep them afloat, but they're counting on the company to come to the table...and let them get back to work.
We tried to get in contact with plant manager Steve Hendershot but as of Thursday night, he had not returned our calls. This weekend workers are planning a rally at noon Saturday. Several politicians will be on hand to support the workers.
