A Sbarro employee is accused of stealing money from the restaurant at the Charleston Town Center Mall.
Police say the suspect first reported being the victim of an armed robbery. He told police two men with guns came in and demanded cash.
However, after investigating, officers say they found out it was all a lie.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with filing a false report.
Officers say the employee later confessed to sealing about $2,400 in cash.
Police say the employee was upset because his job was being terminated.
