The House Finance Committee has recessed until late this afternoon to consider amendments to the 52 (b) billion-dollar, two-year state operating budget.
Committee approval of the bill is expected tonight. Governor
Strickland -- a Democrat -- says he's generally pleased by the version of the budget written by majority Republicans in the House.
After the Finance Committee vote, the budget moves to the House floor for a vote expected Tuesday, then on to the Senate. The spending plan must be in place by the beginning of the next fiscal year on July first.
