A community spent this Mother's Day remembering a mom killed in a fire.

Jennifer Ison and her two young daughters died in a house fire last week, which investigators say was arson.

Friends and family wanted to make sure Jennifer wasn't forgotten on Mother's Day. They wanted everyone to know what a good mom Jennifer was. That's why they organized Sunday’s service at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Grayson.

Family members, friends, and outright strangers formed the hundreds in attendance to honor the Isons. A tape was played of Shannah and Marissa playing and laughing. Family members say the girls were fun-loving and energetic.

Thirty seconds of prayer and silence were given to each of the three victims. Family members remember Jennifer as a caring friend and hardworking mother. They say they relied on faith and family to get them through these tough times.

Casey is actually going to nursing school in the fall. She said she hopes to be as caring of a nurse as her cousin Jennifer was. Kentucky State Police say they have gotten several tips. They are following up on all of them to try to solve this crime.

Police ask that if anyone has information about the fire that was set last Wednesday morning to call them and you don't have to give your name. The phone number for the Kentucky State Police is 1-800-222-5555.
