The head of an Ohio House panel plans to offer a compromise Tuesday to a controversial statewide crackdown on adult businesses.
House Judiciary Chairman Lou Blessing tells The Cleveland Plain Dealer his new version of a strip-club bill will forbid any touching of the dancers and require them to keep some clothes on when dancing past midnight.
The original measure brought to lawmakers by Cincinnati-based Citizens for Community Values proposed a six-foot buffer zone between dancers and patrons and a midnight cut-off for all stripping.
The bill has drawn constitutional questions and hours of sharp opposition testimony.
Blessing says he's not sure even the revision will get through his committee.
