Police Officer on Unpaid Leave

A police officer from Kermit, West Virginia, is on unpaid leave.

Police say Stanley Messer was drunk when he pulled a gun on five teens in a McDonald's parking lot in Logan.

The teens told us Messer was flashing his lights at them trying to pull them over.

They stopped but didn't recognize Messer as a police officer so they sped off.

When they met up with their friends at McDonald's Messer pulled the gun on them again.

Carl Dean is one of the teenagers involved.

He said, "We all stuck our hands up and telling us to freeze and started cussing and pointing gun at them. I took off running to the State Police station.

Logan police Chief David White I want people to know not all of the officers they deal with are bad. We do our best to do the right thing."

The teens said there was a state police trooper with Messer.

His name has not been released.

The State Police say they are looking into the incident.

The victims in this case want more charges filed against Messer.
