Huntington Police are looking for the driver of a car they say hit a child -- and took off.

It happened just after five at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 26th Street.

The boy, believe to be between 10 and 12 years old, was lying in the street when emergency crews arrived. The Huntington Police shift commander told WSAZ the boy's injuries do not appear to be life threatening, but he was taken to the hospital to get checked out.

Police say a woman was driving the car. They say she briefly stopped to see if the boy was okay, then took off. Her car is described as a small, gray 4-door.
