Kentucky State Police have arrested and charged a man in an accident that killed two woman early Friday morning. It happened just before 3:30am on Flat Fork Road in South Shore, Kentucky.
Investigators say Donald Robinson was driving when he lost control of his vehicle, hitting a tree on the passenger side. The car then spun back on to the road.
Two of Robinson's passengers, Stephanie Rhoden, 23 of Ashland, and Lisa Pick, 23 of Portsmouth, were prounounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, Robert Roe, 26 of South Shore, was taken to the hospital, but was treated and released.
Pick was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but Rhoden and Roe were not, according to a news release from the KSP.
Troopers arrested and charged Robinson with: 2 counts of reckless homicide, DUI 1st aggravating circumstances, operating on a suspended license, and possession of marijuana. He's currently in the Greenup County Detention Center.
State Police say alcohol, drugs, and speed are all factors in the crash.
