An investigation has begun to determine if Kanawha County Assistant Prosecutor Fred Giggenbach altered his time sheets while working for the West Virginia Prosecuting Attorneys Institute in 2004.

The allegations were contained in a 2005 legislative audit of the institute claiming Giggenbach altered the time sheets to increase the reimbursement from a federal grant.

An investigator with the 2005 audit said he found no evidence of misconduct by Giggenbach.

Giggenbach has also denied the allegations.

This was the same audit investigating former Kanawha County Prosecutor Bill Charnock.
