Country singer Marty Stuart is the latest music star to make his way to Lincoln County. Back in February, Loretta Lynn hit the stage there. But what’s bringing the music to Lincoln County?
The beat is changing in Lincoln County.
“We never had nothing like this before and it's really drawing a lot of attention to the county,” said Bill Miller, a county resident.
“Actually having something here in Hamlin, I am very proud of that,” said Karrie McNeely, another resident.
The rural county is attracting popular music stars. Marty Stuart is the latest of just a long list of stars to perform.
“I love small town America very much,” said Stuart. “It reminds me of my roots. It's where I come from and I believe in the message of small town people.”
Lincoln Friends of the Arts is responsible for bringing in the great music.
“It's a way to bring people together and bring about harmony and peace,” said Dan Butcher, founder of Friends for the Arts.
Butcher founded the organization a year ago, giving up his time and money for the arts.
“It's your moral obligation to help society,” said Butcher. “If you have it to give, you ought to share that and make life a better place.”
Providing good music and also showcasing what Lincoln County can offer. One star at time, the community is creating a new name for itself through music.
As the weather heats up, so does the music. LeAnn Rimes will be hitting the stage on July 4th! Travis Tritt will be performing on September 2nd.
