OLIVE HILL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An idea to celebrate president Abraham Lincoln's bicentennial means folks will enjoy an opportunity to take a step into the past and imagine what it would be like to live in the 1800's.

The Olive Hill Historical Society wanted to come up with a unique way to honor Lincoln's connection to Kentucky, where he grew up of building a cabin similar to Lincoln's boyhood home in Kentucky.

Saturday at Carter Caves State Park the historical society unveiled "Lincoln's Logs," a representation of our 16th President's log home.

Lincoln was born in a one room log cabin in Hardin County, Kentucky. The area is now a part of LaRue County.

The exhibit is located at the Primitive Camp Grounds.

The folks behind the project hope it's educational and even inspirational for visitors.

Supporters of the project were able to purchase a cabin log to make the project a reality.
