Many things wake us up in the middle of the night-- lightning, sirens or even you're kids crying, but one woman in West Portsmouth woke up to a car crashing into her living room where she was sleeping in a recliner early Friday morning.
“How he came through and wasn’t killed, I have no idea,” Linda Powell said talking about the driver who crashed a car into her home on Haig Road in West Portsmouth.
The crash knocked Powell out of her chair, damaged the living room and buckled the garage door, breaking her antiques that were in storage.
Driver Jack Rhea from West Portsmouth was arrested and charged with driving under the influence along with possession of marijuana and driving under a suspended license.
Powell said she is glad to be alive and the angels in her living room window must have been watching over her.
