According to a recent report by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Kentucky and West Virginia led the nation in ATV deaths between 2002 and 2005. Kentucky had 143 deaths and West Virginia had 138.

CAMC offers free ATV safety courses on the following dates: June 30, July 21, August 4, September 8 and October 20. The classes are four hours long. Call 388-7859 to register for the courses.

ATV Safety Tips
-ride only ATVs appropriate for your age group
-never ride above your skill level
-wear proper gear
-never carry passengers. ATVs are designed for one person unless stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
-never operate an ATV on a public road
-provide constant supervision when children are operating an ATV
