Charleston Police found more than two pounds of marijuana hidden in a man’s car during a nighttime seatbelt checkpoint Friday.

Officers say when Roger Lee Caldwell, 25 of Poca, pulled up to the checkpoint, they smelled a “very strong odor of marijuana.” Police proceeded to search his car and found the large stash of marijuana hidden inside several pizza delivery bags.

Police say Caldwell worked as a pizza delivery driver at a local pizza establishment, but would not specify which one.

Caldwell is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana -- and police say other charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, are still pending.
