HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ-TV) -- Your right to light up in bars and video parlors in Cabell County could soon come to an end.
The Cabell-Huntington Health Department is working on a proposal to ban smoking at all establishments in the county. This would include bars and video lottery parlors that are currently exempt from the county's smoking ban.
Under current regulations, bars and other establishments where alcohol makes up more than 80% of sales do not have to abide by the smoking ban.
Cabell-Huntington Health Department director Dr. Harry Tweel says the department still has to discuss the proposed ban at a board meeting in the near future.
Tweel also expects a public hearing on the proposed smoking regulations possibly later this month.
