A video on showing a Huntington man abusing his dogs, is causing quite a stir, but it’s not telling the whole story.

What started as a simple neighborhood dispute, with allegations of animal abuse, broken car windows and harassment traded between two households is now on a national stage.

John Smith is shown on nationally viewed web site,, kicking his two pit bulls. Smith said the video is retaliation from a neighbor who has caused his family big problems.

Smith’s next door neighbors, Bryan and Sherry Kindery captured the images with one of the cameras they have mounted all over their house and recently posted the video on the internet site Many who have viewed it online have posted angry comments.

Smith was then convicted of cruelty to animals and paid a $150 fine. He said the dogs were eating dog feces and he was trying to teach them a lesson.

Smith said those same cameras captured Sherry Kindery smashing the Smiths’ car windows. The Smiths called the police.

What’s up for debate is if he deserves to have his name and address posted on a national website.

The Smiths have since moved to a new house in Huntington because of all that has happened. Police said they are investigating both former neighbors for acts of vandalism that happened on each other's properties.
