The election in East bank is over, but no one knows who the mayor is.
It’s not a case of hanging chads, but it is leaving people hanging in the balance.
“I’ve never been into politics that much, but an election too close to call for East Bank’s top spot has everyone talking,“ first time voter David Dyer said.
The tie is a frustration for incumbent mayor Chuck Blair and challenger Gene Webb.
The people in East Bank really seem to care more than some towns, a town where almost half of the people went to the polls. This situation has many people in East Bank saying they will vote from now on.
Town council will consider 19 provisional ballots Tuesday, which could determine the election. Once that happens, a candidate can request a recount.
Gene Webb didn’t want to talk on camera about the race today, and Chuck Blair, the incumbent, didn’t return our phone calls.
