State of Ohio Helping General Mills in Wellston with Expansion Project
The Ohio Department of Development says it's a 70 million dollar project which is expected to retain over 1,000 jobs.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- More than 100 new jobs could be on the way to southeast Ohio with the help of tax credits just announced by Governor Ted Strickland.

General Mills is getting some help from the state in expanding its operations in Wellston.

The Ohio Department of Development says it's a 70 million dollar project that is expected to retain more than 1,000 jobs.

General Mills is planning to install a new pizza roll manufacturing line, a production freezer and a warehouse

Also, Thermo Fisher Scientific Asheville is getting more than 300-thousand dollars in tax credit to expand its operations in Marietta.

The medical refrigeration company's expansion is expected to create more than 100 jobs and retain around 500 other jobs.
