Non-stop flights to Atlanta will be available from Tri-State Airport starting this afternoon.
Delta Air Lines regional carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines is offering the daily flights, all of which will be aboard 40-seat Canadair regional jets.
The first flight is set to depart Tri-State at 1:40 p-m and arrive in Atlanta at 3:05. The daily flights from Atlanta depart at 11:52 a-m and arrive in West Virginia at 1:15 p-m.
Tri-State Airport Director Larry Salyers says this new service is a great opportunity for travelers to have additional access to the west, as well as better connections to international destinations.
The addition of the Atlanta service marks the first time the airport has had four destinations since 1994. The other non-stop flights are to Cincinnati, Orlando and Charlotte.
