City Starts Parking Lot Towing

The City of Huntington has started towing cars from the parking lot of a vacant store in Huntington.

It's happening on the former Ames lot near the interstate along route 152. Last Wednesday, the city gave truck and car owners 48 hours to remove the vehicles from the property or they would be towed.

The city says the lot has become a center for illegal activity, and suspects hide behind the parked trucks. Administrators and officers tagged more than three dozen trucks and cars on Wednesday..

Monday morning the city towed three cars and a semi trailer. They also put a 48 hour notice on a 4th vehicle on the lot.

The city next plans to but put up barriers on the parking lot entrances to prevent people from parking on the lot
