Last week a vacant store lot, where more than 40 cars and tractor trailers were illegally parked was targeted for a crackdown on crime by the city of Huntington.

Owners of the parked vehicles were given 48 hours to move or get towed. Monday the old Ames lot on route 152 was cleared by city officials.

Three cars and one tractor trailer were towed from the lot. The city said clearing the lot will achieve their goal of cutting down on crime.

The city plans to block access to the parking lot, to avoid any future trespassing.
