Dozens of small towns in West Virginia chose new mayors Tuesday, but one election continues to have an uncertain future.
The race for mayor of East Bank in Kanawha County ended in a tie last week. Incumbent Chuck Blair and challenger Gene Webb each received 206 votes.
Tuesday night, city council planned to canvass the vote and consider 19 more provisional ballots. Those ballots are expected to decide the race. However, a meeting between town and county officials ended over "procedural issues."
It will be Thursday at the earliest before town officials begin the canvass again.
