ORIGINAL STORY 12/25/09
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (AP) -- Arkansas police are looking for two men who shot and killed a Salvation Army major originally from West Virginia in front of his three young children outside the organization's community center in North Little Rock.
Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper says two men accosted Philip Wise and his children - ages, 4, 6 and 8 - on Thursday. He says one man pulled a gun, demanded money and then shot Wise.
Wise's wife, Cindy, was inside the center and called 911.
Philip Wise was picking up his wife to drive to his mother's home in West Virginia.
He was originally from Weirton, W.Va., and his wife, Cindy, was from Charleston, W.Va.
Wise had worked in the neighborhood for three years, helping run youth programs, a food pantry and church services.
Captain Bob Mullins with the Salvation Army in Huntington tells WSAZ.com that Wise was formerly stationed in St. Albans, W.Va.

It's crimes like this one that underscore the need to have capital punishment. We need to rid the earth of such low lifes without delay.
Wow, I don't even know what to say that won't defile me. Except, I pray for this family. This man dedicated his life to helping others, as did his wife. From other new reports, I understand the 3 children, ages 4,6 and 8, were just adopted last year. At least they are part of a supportive community of believers. Like I said before - WOW and at CHRISTmas too. This really does show how debased our society and humankind has become.
God help his family. Why did they kill the man in front of his own children? Those children will be traumatized for the rest of their lives because of these two men. I hope they get caught and get life in prison.
