HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A new place to have parties and weddings is now up and running.
The historic Huntington House had it's grand opening gala Saturday, complete with music, refreshments and even a little bit of trivia.
The venue is in the 1300 block of Sixth Avenue. It's been designed to be the backdrop for small weddings, parties and other special evening.
Kathi Stafford owns the Huntington House and says, "It was a model home and all the research we've done says this was built in 1888, to get people to come to Huntington, which was a new city."
"It wasn't Guyandotte or Barboursville where the old cities are it was a new city," Stafford went on to say. "It's a gorgeous place and we're happy to have it and we just want to share it with the community."
The Huntington House also offers environmentally friendly events as a part of its green wedding and party packages.
