Drought Dangerous for Firefighters

Ultra dry conditions are creating a dangerous fire situation across our region.

A brush fire off Camp Branch Road in Cabell County underscores that danger.

Firefighters from Barboursville and Green Valley fire departments fought the fire which started on Wednesday at an old junk yard.

One home was threatened before firemen used chemical foam and water to douse the flames.

In the Kanawha Valley, conditions are so dry that a burning ban is in effect in Charleston, making it illegal to burn brush or leaves.
